So it's been another couple weeks...my apologies for the delay in posts.  It's been a bit crazy around (again...still?) with Matt traveling as much as he is, work and starting to really think about Nemo coming into our family.  I've had some much needed girls' nights recently, catching up with an old high school friend (had a great time) and then had Anna over for dinner!  It's one of the only things I look forward to when Matt's gone - girl time.  Anyway, let's get to the TMI and then the final analysis on whether we're having a girl or boy since WE FIND OUT NEXT WEEK!!! :)

Your baby's sensory development is exploding! His/her brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. Some research suggests that he/she may be able to hear your voice now, so don't be shy about reading aloud, talking to him/her, or singing a happy tune if the mood strikes you.
Your baby weighs about 8 1/2 ounces and measures 6 inches, head to bottom — about the size of a mango. His/her arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of him/her body now. His/her kidneys continue to make urine and the hair on him/her scalp is sprouting. A waxy protective coating called the vernix caseosa is forming on him/her skin to prevent it from pickling in the amniotic fluid.

18 Weeks Picture

How Far Along: 19 Weeks 2 Day

Total Weight Gain:  Not sure, but I'm guessing I'm up to about 2 lbs total loss.

Best Moments This Week:  Knowing I felt Nemo for sure!  How cool is that!? :)

Gender:  Less than a week and the greatest debate in the household will be settled.  What do you think we're having?

Movement:  Still very gentle, but definitely there!

Food Craving:  Peanut butter and Chipotle are my cravings so far.  Appetite is definitely on the rise though.

Sleep:  Sleep is something I'm still seeking these days...Nemo's prepping me for Motherhood.  haha

What I am Looking Forward To:  I can't wait to find out if we need to stick with the ocean blues or add some pink and purple accents! :)

Symptoms:  Back pain has continued, so I'm just accepting that it will be around for the duration.  Appetite is slowly coming back so that's definitly good, Nemo doesn't need to go hungry! :)

Girl or Boy?!  Still pretty torn:

  • Baby's Heartbeat is >140, then it's a girl; if it's <140; it's a boy.
    • Girl from last Dr. count.
  • Acne: If it gets worse during the pregnancy, it's a girl; if it stays the same or gets better, it's a boy.
    • Girl
  • Maternal Grandmother:  If the maternal grandmother has gray hair it's a boy; if she doesn't (whether it's natural or not) it's a girl.
    • Girl
  • Sum of Mothers Age + The Month Conceived: Odd = Girl; Even = Boy
    • Girl
  • Hair On Legs: If the hair on your legs grows faster, it's a boy; if it stays the same or stops it's a girl
    • Boy
  • Carrying: If you're carrying low and all in front, it's a boy; high and wide, it's a girl.
    • Boy
  • Feet:  If they're colder than usual it's a boy; normal or warmer, it's a girl.
    • Boy
  • Morning Sickness: If you had it, it's a girl; if you didn't, it's a boy.
    • Girl
  • Chinese Gender Predictor:
    • Boy
  • Mayan Gender Predictor:
    • Boy

We're taking bets from anyone who wants to put one in.  Even though there's no pot to win. ;)  I just can't wait to hold him/her in my arms!!  I'm only 19 weeks in...21 to go and although I'm sure it's going to fly by in the grand scheme of things, it's going fast enough right now! Haha  I'm just surprised too at the changes in Matt, "What did you have for food today?"  "Did you get out and walk today?"  "How are you feeling?"  "What does Nemo feel like for dinner tonight?"  "How's Nemo doing?"  And my personal favorite (And you have to hold your fist out in front of you while you say this one) "How do you not feel something THIS BIG moving inside you?!"  He's happy I can now feel the movements, but now he's anxious to be able to feel the kicks and jabs himself.

Big things on the horizon, and I can't wait to tell the world what we're having, 6 days!  Ok well, I guess 9 days because we're going to tell everyone next Saturday.  Keep an eye out! :-D

Little side note by the way...You've heard people say "Why does a person have to say "I love you" every time they get off of the phone? It loses something when it's said like that."  I was thinking about it and especially now when you see these horrible things on all of the news casts, I'd much rather know if something bad ever happened to me or Matt, one of the last things I would've said to him was "I love you."  I'd rather say it too much and make sure he knows just how much I love him, than not say it enough and have him wonder...Side note over!

Until next week folks, I'll post new pictures of baby, mom, and maybe a sneak peak at some of the nursery stuff! :)
