12 Weeks aka 3 months in!

Well, I'm sorry for the delay, it's been a crazy few weeks.  Between crazy work hours, extra meetings, Valentine's day and doctor's appointments...I hadn't gotten around to this.  SO we will skip the "Lime" week and move straight into the "Plumb" week. :)

 

The average fetus at week 12 is about 2.1 inches long and .49 ounces. Now that he/she's got pretty much all his/her parts, his/her main job is to keep on growing. While he/she's doing that, he/she's also developing his/her reflexes -- if you poke your belly, he/she'll likely move, and he/she's opening and closing his/her fingers and curling his/her toes.

How Far Along: 12 weeks

Total Weight Gain : I have actually lost 7 lbs from my starting weight.  

Maternity Clothes : None yet though I may be closer than I'd like...

Best Moment this week : Getting to hear Nemo's heartbeat for the first time! :)  Such an exciting moment for us.  I looked over in wonder at Matt and all he does is chuckle.  I asked "Why are you laughing?" He responds with "Nemo sounds like the Debarked Dog from 'Grownups'."  Leave it to Matt to think that straight away.  :)

Gender : Still no clue...getting excited to find out in 6 weeks!

Movement : Nope, not yet!   Hopefully soon because I'd LOVE to feel Nemo!

Food Craving : Still none, Matt and I have adopted the theory that if it sounds good eat it.  We don't want me to lose any more weight as we approach the 2nd trimester.

Sleep: Much better this week for whatever reason.  Perhaps it's the nausea or just not stressing at every 

What I am looking forward to : Next Monday we go in for our next sonogram.  This is for the First Trimester Chromosomal screening.  Definitely an exciting time, but nerve wracking as well as it will give us our risk level for having those disorders present.

Belly Button : Still in.

Symptoms : Definitely having the belly pop...I didn't realize just how much until I took this weeks bump picture!  I feel like I shouldn't be this large until half way through...or finishing up!  Oh well it is what it is and there's not too much I can do about it.  I just don't understand how I could've lost another 3 lbs from the last picture taken and I have grown to this:

As far as the sex of the baby we're still pretty torn down the middle:

Girl or Boy!?

• Baby’s heart rate: If the HR is >140, then it’s a girl; if it’s <140; it’s a boy
• Girl (Dr. Guessed the heart rate was in the 160 range)
• Acne: If your skin gets worse during the pregnancy, it’s a girl; if it stays the same or gets better, it’s a boy
• Boy (Holding strong so far!)
• Maternal Grandmother: If the maternal grandmother has gray hair it’s a boy; if she doesn’t (whether natural or dyed) it’s a girl
• Girl
• Sum of the mother’s age + the month conceived: Odd = girl; even = boy
• Girl
• Hair on legs: If the hair on your legs grows faster it’s a boy; if it stays the same or stops it’s a girl
• Boy 
• Carrying: If you’re carrying low and all in front it’s a boy; high and wide = girl
• This one is a little hard to tell so far, but I’ve been told it looks like I’m carrying low, which = Boy 
• Feet: If they are colder than usual it’s a boy; normal or warmer it’s a girl
• Girl (I think I've also been more cognative to wear slippers and such. Not really a good person to do this one though as my feet are usually ice...I'll have to ask Matt to evaluate this for me.) :)
• Morning Sickness: If you had it = girl, if you didn’t = boy
• Girl
