Last night we went for our Maternity Photo shoot. Below is my bump picture and a quick preview of my outfit. The photographer we used: Katrina Krauss was wonderful. She had reasonable rates, and made the experience fun and casual while getting some great pictures.
So last post I mentioned a shower my coworkers threw for me. This past weekend my Mother In Law and Sister In Law threw me a fabulous shower at the marina. I will post those pictures in a separate blog so they don't overwhelm everyone. Let's just say I was surprised and confused all at once. As I was walking down the pier to get Lady, I saw all these people...then I realized all these people are staring at me...then I realized I recognized a lot of these people...no all of these people...now I'm thinking 'What are you all doing here?!'...that was when I saw the baloons and decorations. It all made sense and I couldn't have been happier. I'm not going to lie, not having had much of my registry attended to was starting to freak me out a bit...but after that weekend most things were checked off and what was still on the list wasn't nearly as overwhelming!
Then YESTERDAY I was planning on going over to a neighbor girlfriend's house to hang out with her and her grandson for the afternoon and I walk into a small group of women from the Motorcycle Club we joined recently. SURPRISE! It was so wonderful that these women wanted to support Matt and I! In addition to the little stuff that always goes a long way (small toys, rattles, books, and clothes) the club as a whole went in on the Pack 'n' Play which was the last thing on our registry that we were considering a "large" purchase. Sneaky Sneaky ladies! I never would've expected anything considering it was the middle of the day on a Thursday...shouldn't you be at work? ;-)
Let's just say it's been a busy few weeks as nesting truly has set in, and every waking moment I've found myself anxious and a bit stir crazy. I constantly go into the nursery to make sure everything is where I want it...tonight I will go ahead and finish packing my hospital bag so it's just a matter of grabbing and going.
In the meantime, let's get the details for this week going: Week of the Honeydew Melon. :)
Your due date is just four weeks away. Hasn’t time flown? Your once-poppy seed would probably be able to breathe on her own if she was born right now. (If not, she’d probably need some TLC, but she’d likely be okay.) Most of her systems are in working order at 36 weeks. Since baby really could decide to make her arrival any day now, try to put in a little prep work. For example, if you took a child birth class a few months ago, you might want to reread any materials you were given and practice some of the breathing techniques you learned with your partner. Go over your plan for getting to the hospital, and all the what-ifs (like, if you go into labor while you’re at work, will you go home first or straight there?). You might also want to remind your boss and colleagues of the status of all your work projects, so they know exactly where to take over if you’re suddenly out of the office. Week 36 is also a good time to enjoy a date with your partner. We’re guessing you won’t be up for dancing, but a nice dinner might be just what you two could use. (from thebump.com)
How Far Along: 36 Weeks 2 Days
Total Weight Gain: I'm up 8 lbs over my initial weight in total...so still knocking on wood and counting my blessings.
Best Moments This Week: Maternity shoot was definitely fun. The other big thing is just having a sense of calm come over me as I feel pretty much ready)
Gender: Still Abigail. :)
Movement: Same as before: All the time. Though the hiccups have started and unlike most stories I hear hers last at least 10 minutes vs. the typical 5...can be a bit tough when it happens at bedtime!
Food Craving: I still haven't really had many cravings. Chipotle is never turned down, neither is Five Guys...otherwise it's pretty much appetite as normal.
Sleep: Sleep? What's that? Neither Matt nor I are getting much these days. I'm hoping it'll change for a few nights at least over the weekend or something so I can play catch up because ugh! lol
What I am Looking Forward To: Hopefully holding out on Labor till at least Sept 1st because I get to have another sonogram Aug 27th so it would be pretty cool to 1. confirm Murphy didn't step in at the 20 week anatomical screening, and also just to have that last picture of her before she's really here. :)
Symptoms: Back pain is now come and go, but I'm definitely waddling. My muscles in the lower half of my body all hurt from being used differently for sure. Heartburn is definitely still around, but they say that means she'll be born with a whole head of hair right? :)
So many things to consider as we approach the time, so if I go MIA for a while again I apologize. I will do my best to update after the new sonogram is taken for everyone to see one last glimpse/teaser before she really gets here. :) Love you all and I can't wait for you all to meet the bundle of joy growing inside! <3
